Century: crystal clear creations
In true pre-Basel 'teasing' style, Century revealated one ladies timepiece and one men's wristwatch that show off the brand's incred-ible expertise with sapphire crystal. The first, the Mogul, is a jewellery watch created with a sapphire crystal case and an 18 carat red gold caseback. There are 190 facets on the crystal, which are entirely cut and polished by hand. The mother-of-pearl dial, set with its 52 diamonds, is magically inserted into the crystal and a white alligator strap is attached by way of two elegant claws that really make you wonder how they get it all to stay together! The men's timepiece, the Prime Time Egos Chronograph, uses crystal in a different, but equally stunning way, with a sapphire crystal and a sapphire case middle that are 'Megalithed' together. Master craftsmen then fashion the 42mm twelve-sided watchcase by cutting and polishing it by hand. This COSC-certified chronograph also has a GMT function and date aperture at 3 o'clock. The dial has three mother-of-pearl sub dials for the chronograph and is set with 130 different diamonds, including 44 baguettes.
